TwoTweet Goes Live

TwoTweet.com is now live...kicking off our launch with vinyl records from Coconut Records and the digital release of Hollyhood from Frank Nitt and DJ Quik.

We'd like to extend an extra special thanks to our very first customer - SLyleCoy (Twitter name). He rocked the web AND Twitter purchase methods and gave us a phenomenal review. Even posted a TwitPic...thank you!

What's twotweet + Alpha Launch

Our awesome friends at Young Baby Records, are allowing us to debut the brand new Coconut Records vinyl for Nighttiming and Davy this week. It'll be the first and only place to buy it! After that Coconut Records will be running a few special merch deals!

What's twotweet? It's a super-simple shopping tool plugged into Twitter. A band - in this case Coconut Records, adds an item for sale and it immediately sends out a Tweet. As a shopper, you can purchase via the web link, or if you are already registered, by simply re-tweeting or replying to the message and including the product url again.

Why buy via Twitter? A few reasons come to mind:
1) It's a super-limited special item and you want to skip the whole checkout process
2) You're stuck at work, know you want it but the boss is hanging over your shoulder
3) You're on the go and your mobile device isn't so hot with the whole web page thing

We are so excited to launch this week with Coconut Records. We hope to add a lot more amazing bands and offers on merch, music and tickets very soon.

Beta Launch Next Week

twotweet.com is planning our beta launch next week. We've partnered with a few clients of DashGo.com and you may start to see some music and merch for sale next week via TwoTweet on Twitter. We'll announce our final list of launch partners early next week.

It's been an exciting development cycle and we've got most of the kinks worked out. It's still very much a platform in progress and a whole host of upgrade features including coupons, discounting, fulfillment and API integrations are on the roadmap for the remainder of 2009.

But first we need your feedback on the core features. So stay tuned and hit @twotweet on Twitter for more.

P.S. - check out this timely New York Times article on the value of small businesses on Twitter. This is the homerun twotweet wants to help you hit. http://bit.ly/8zOOg

Artist Overview Deck

Here's the twotweet artist overview deck for those interested in learning more.

twotweet Beta & Design

I'm getting excited. twotweet is in beta and it's actually working. So much time is spent thinking in 140 characters that I woke up yesterday morning realizing I needed a serious design polish on the homepage to properly communicate the product. So a few hours of wireframing and UI discussions later, I think we found a winner.

Now it's back to Tweets and help docs and Paypal integration. Long weekend ahead before some serious demos for real people next week.
